Library Day at the Legislature

Carson City, Nevada

On April 14, 2009 we will be having our annual Library Legislative day. This year our advocacy day is during National Library Week (Worlds Connect @ Your Library - April 12-18). In fact, April 14 is National Library Workers Day.

Legislative Day Invitation

Schedule for the Day:

8:00 - 8:30 Registration - Old Assembly Chambers (in former State Capitol)
8:30 - 9:30 Lobbying update - Old Assembly Chambers (in former State Capitol)
9:30 - 10:30 Free to meet with legislators or attend committee hearings
11:00 - 12:00 Floor session (we hope) sit with Assembly/in gallery for Senate
12:00 - 1:30 Lunch in Room 3100
2:00 - 4:00 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 101 with Lynne Bradley, Director of the Office of Government Relations for the American Library Association - Washington Office - Room 3100

 

If you are staying the night or live within driving distance of Carson City, please join the Carson City Library at 6:00 p.m. for Worlds Connect @ the Carson City Library: Second Life Demonstration, Galaxy Theatre 4000 South Curry Street.

If you have not rsvp’d your attendance at NLA Legislative Day- please do no later than Friday, April 3 @ noon-send your name to sfjones@clan.lib.nv.us

The legislative floor session will start at 11:00 am and last until 12:00 (noon)- the legislative schedule is a bit uncertain but we still hope for there to be one that day. We can sit with the Assembly but will be in the Gallery for the Senate.
