This exceptional opportunity to meet award-winning authors is open to all ages, and the audience will get a question and answer session as well as an author signing immediately following the awards breakfast.

The NYRA honor was begun in 1987 by the Nevada Department of Education (NDOE) with the support of librarians and teachers. In 1990, NLA and NDOE began jointly sponsoring the Award. NYRA titles are recommended and voted on by students in Nevada. In 1987, 4,104 students from 16 schools voted; by 2004, 30,423 voters from 243 schools and public libraries participated.
