Position Description

Under the general direction of Pershing County Library Board of Trustees serves as manager of the Pershing County Library; recommends library policies, programs and procedures; supervises library staff of three (3), programs and operations; administers the business affairs of the department; may assist in staffing and performs other work as assigned. The individual in this position is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Pershing County Library Board of Trustees.

Qualifications

Graduation from a college or university with a degree related to library science, social science, business or public administration, or related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional library experience; including at least one (1) year as a librarian in charge of a small library or in charge of a major division of a large library. Computer knowledge and experience is required.

• Possess a current certification by the State of Nevada as a Librarian or Certified Librarian.
• Possession of a valid Nevada driver’s license at the time of appointment
• Submit to fingerprinting and posses ability to pass a background investigation
