There are four Goodreads Groups for the four NYRA committees: picture books, young reader, intermediate, and young adult. Goodreads is a book networking site which enables you to interact with colleagues from around the world, participate in group discussions about books or themes of interest, communicate with new authors from various genres, and design virtual bookshelves where, from any computer, you can easily access records of the hundreds of books you read each year. It is a great resource for anyone in the education community.
We hope that the NYRA groups will provide a place where we can have online discussions about the nominated titles throughout the year, and most importantly, get to know each other better so that we can be a stronger professional community.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at jlynn.vanpelt@gmail.com or you can send either Terry or me a message on Goodreads.
Sincerely,
J-Lynn Van Pelt
