Attracting, Educating and
Serving Remote Users
Donnelyn
Curtis, Araby Greene, Amy Shannon, Millie Syring, and Vicki
Toy-Smith, are librarians at the University of Nevada, Reno, and
co-authors of the Neal-Schuman book, Attracting, Educating, and
Serving Remote Users Through the Web. They will share their
experiences and insights about improving, supporting, and
measuring the use of library services, including electronic
reference, document delivery, and library instruction.
“Our goal is
to make every library patron feel important, well-served, and
confident. How can we do so when today’s library users interact
most of the time with Web services? Our communities have
discovered the convenience of 24/7 Internet access, and they
aren’t going back. Our primary clientele, unseen but very real,
provide us with an unprecedented opportunity to build new services
and improve traditional ones.”
A must for
librarians serving distance education students, you can catch this
informative program on Friday 12:30 – 2:00 in Martis Peak B. |
